Note: Belarus under Lukashenko is rated 'Not Free' by Freedom House. Independent media, civil society, and trade unions face severe repression. There is no effective whistleblower protection. After the 2020 protests, thousands were imprisoned and major independent organizations were forcibly liquidated.

Belaruskali — Belarus's state-owned potash company, a large potash producer. Belaruskali operates six mines near Soligorsk. The company has been under EU, US, and UK sanctions since 2021 following the forced diversion of Ryanair Flight 4978 and repression of democratic opposition. BPC (Belarusian Potash Company) — the former exclusive export trading arm of Belaruskali (sanctioned).
